The Patchogue Chamber’s Mother’s Day giveaway has become a yearly tradition. Each year, during the weekend of Mother’s Day, participating businesses will hand out a petunia plant as a lovely gift with any purchase.
This year’s participating businesses include:
Why petunias? – You ask. Because the petunia is the official flower of the Village of Patchogue. We bet you didn’t know that.
In 1982, Mayor Norman Lechtrecker offered a resolution that the village board passed unanimously and the petunia became the official flower of the Village of Patchogue.
This weekend, shop at these participating businesses and celebrate mom with a beautiful petunia plant. Happy Mother’s Day!
